Last month, I worked with the Wedding Central as my first time as a second photographer at Ankur & Kiran’s Wedding at the Double Tree Hotel in Philadelphia. The couple had a traditional Hindu Indian wedding. Photographing the bride and groom as they prepared for their wedding ceremony was an amazing experience. There is something so special about the way a bride looks on the morning of her wedding. Kiran blew me away with her gentle and soft elegance. Ankur was cool, collective and ready for it all. For the Bharat, an elaborately decorated horse carried the groom along side his family and friends as they paraded down the streets of downtown Philadelphia. Loud rhythmic drumming and traditional dances announced the groom’s arrival to the bride’s family. The ceremony took place under a purple and pink lit mandap and was directed by a holy man. After the ceremony, the couple left for an outfit change and shortly thereafter made their entrance at the reception. The speeches were emotional and the dancing electric. We ended the night with a few photographs of the couple outside, walking down the street outside the hotel. The last shot is my favorite from the day because the bride and groom look like movie stars, on top of the world. A big thank you to Wedding Central for having me photograph the wedding as a second photographer and to the bride and groom for allowing me to capture their wedding. Congratulations Ankur & Kiran.
