Day 8 {Lower Manhattan Newborn Photographer}- Lower Manhattan, NYC

I loved photographed this little guy on his 8th day of life at his Lower Manhattan home. It was so special being able to capture him during his first couple of weeks. You may remember his beautiful mommy from the maternity session I posted last month (http://photographybyasiya.com/blog/2013/01/maternity-photo-shoot-east-village-maternity-photographer-east-village-nyc/). I love how cool the exposed red brick looks in the photographs. Here are a few of my favorites.

How to Dye Cheesecloth {Instructional Video and Step by Step Instructions}- Edgewater, NJ

Here is a short video on all the steps required to dye cheesecloth.

Items Needed: Mixing Bowl, Stirring Spoon, Pre-Machine Washed Cheesecloth, and Rit Dye

Steps:
1) Fill the mixing bowl with warm/hot water.
2) Add Rit dye to the water and stir. Make sure to add little bits at a time as some colors are very strong.
3) Add cheesecloth to the hot water/dye mixture. Stir for 5-10 minutes.
4) Ring out the cheesecloth and drain the water in the sink.
5) Hang the cheesecloth allowing it to dry overnight.
6) Once dry, hand wash the cheesecloth with color water. After this initial hang wash, you can wash with like colors on the delicate cycle using a washing machine..

Cheesecloth was purchased here: http://www.amazon.com/ (Brand was Basiloff Cheesecloth – Grade 50)
Rit Dye was purchased here: http://hobbylobby.com/

And an even better place to buy your cheesecloth from is cheeseclothfabric.com.  Make sure to get Grade 50.

Impressions of Limerick {Limerick Maine Photography}- Limerick, Maine

This past fall, three of my best college friends and I ventured to Limerick Maine to welcome in the fall together.  The weekend away was an amazing break from the crazy grind of every day life.  We stayed in a place that one of my friends found on Air B N B.  The first night we arrived, my friend Mary made an amazing fire and we star gazed catching glimpses of shooting stars while roasting marshmallows.  The next day, Mary made breakfast for us from vegetables she plucked from the garden and we explored our beautiful country home and the surrounding town of Limerick…Of course, I ended up in a antique shop where I dreamed about newborn photograph props that I would one day buy if I made it back to Limerick with a pick-up-truck!  Here are a few photographs from the trip!  More can be found on my facebook page.

Indian Wedding {Albany New York Indian Wedding Photographer}- Albany, NY

I had the best time photographing my friend’s gorgeous Indian wedding in Albany. I had posted a sneak peak days after her wedding (http://photographybyasiya.com/blog/2012/12/indian-wedding-albany-new-york-indian-wedding-photographer-albany-ny/) but did not share these four images which I adore.  Her cake and cake topper were so unique- The dupata that draped the cake matched the embroidery on her dress to a tee and the topper needs no comment.
