I loved photographing this beautiful wedding last year at the Van Cortlandt Lake House. I never got a chance to share these images but I really enjoyed photographing this special wedding. The wedding was of my college friend and fellow staff member at the Columbia Spectator, Linda, who got married to her fiancé Michael. The outdoor ceremony followed by a beautiful lunch and reception took place last May. Congrats to the beautiful bride and groom!
I loved photographing this beautiful family in their home in Hoboken! It was so cool how the family dog jumped into the photos. So many memories are created during a session… Love capturing this time for my clients.
It was so fun photographing this one year old! We split the session with a few photos in studio and at the baby’s home. The session in studio took place in the morning and mom brought an adorable aviator outfit and cake smash set up. In the afternoon, I went to the client’s home for some photos after the baby’s nap with grandma and the baby’s aunt and cousin. We did bed photos and photos around the house. I love the variety and diversity of this set of images. I think they really capture not only the special milestone but also show the love and amazing space that this family has created. These photos will always serve as a special memory many years to come.
One Year Photo Shoots are an opportunity to capture one of the most special times in your baby’s life. One year olds are inquisitive, smart, and are able to undestand language, express themselves, and often can stand and in some cases walk. During a one year photo shoot, I work to photograph all the things that make your baby unique; the way your baby looks into your eyes, the excited expression your baby has when you sing his or her favorite song, and all the delicious features that make your baby special like your baby’s chubbly little legs and gorgeous eyes.
During a typical one year photo shoot, parents will opt to do 3 different looks.
1) I recommend the first look be a nice classic family portrait. I usually will take a photo of the baby with each parent, by him or herself and with all members of the family together. For this look, I prefer the outdoors as it is more natural and allows baby’s to feel relaxed surrounded by beautiful trees and the ourdoors.
2) The second look can showcase a fun aesthetic and can be something cultural, sporty, or something that is more playful in nature. This can be shot in studio or in a space within your home.
3) The last look I recommend is a cake smash set up. For this, I provide the seamless backdrop and you bring any decor elements and a cake with you to the shoot. A cake can be purchased at Whole Foods or you can prepare it yourself with ingredients that are familiar to your baby’s palette.
See below for the colors I have available in studio.
